CDR Resources

small logo

To facilitate an open, inclusive, and dynamic research community, the CDR utilizes several online based tools. These resources are based on open source and freely available software. If you are associated with Northern Arizona University or CDR's collaborators and would like further information or assistance configuring any of the following resources for you group, please contact Jeff Henrikson, the CDR IT Manager.

Forum The CDR Forum is a secure online discussion community. This resource has spurred lively debate and the sharing of knowledge from our diverse body of students, staff, faculty, and collaborators. The forum is powered by the open source and freely available phpBB and MySQL packages

Calendar The web based calendar provides both public and private schedules for all of CDR. The calendar software is VCalendar.

Data Pipline The Data Pipeline is an in-house developed PHP and MySQL application. The pipeline provides multi-user, multi-project data archiving and customizable querying capability.

Project Management CDR uses the open source Dot Project software for our project management needs. This package provides the functionality of better known proprietary project management software packages, in a free, customizable, and web based solution.

Bioinformatics Server This Fedora Linux server is maintained by CDR as a resource to the NAU scientific community to utilize open source linux based tools, and as a student learning enviroment for command line scientific software. All software on this server, from the operating system to the individual analysis packages, are open source and freely available.
